Earlier I wrote about three great Bible studies on Jesus, but since then I’ve discovered 3 more wonderful studies on Jesus that I just had to recommend to you. Why so many studies about Jesus? Jesus is the hero of the Story. He is the what the Bible is all about and what we should be about. We could study Jesus all our lives and still have only scratched the surface. These three studies have different purposes and goals and will each help you and your group in vastly different ways. First, The Case for Christ analyzes the evidence the Jesus lived and was who he said he was. in Life of Jesus, historian John Dickson explores Jesus’ life and teaching to build the case for who Jesus was, but also why it matters. And finally, Walk as Jesus Walked helps you not only experience the land and teaching of Jesus, but spurs you on to follow him as your rabbi, following him wherever he leads.
The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel
Take a personal or small group journey exploring the evidence for Jesus from the fields of science, philosophy, and history with New York Times bestselling author Lee Strobel. You will retrace Strobel’s personal journey from atheism to faith by sifting through fascinating evidence and weighing expert testimony. The Case for Christ allows space for skeptics to engage with the evidence and come to your own conclusion. This study will challenge you to wrestle with the evidence, and in the end, you may see Jesus in a whole new way. Watch the trailer for the study:
Life of Jesus by John Dickson
John Dickson is a pastor, historian, theologian, and a singer (though there are no songs in this study, sadly). Dickson lives is Australia and in his study, Life of Jesus, he does a marvelous job of presenting not only the story of Jesus, but the full meaning of that story. He does so in a way that is both deeply faithful to the biblical sources and refreshingly relevant to the world and the church today. This is an ideal study for those who want to re-examine the deep historical roots of Christian faith and to find them as life-giving as they ever were. Walk as Jesus Walked by Ray Vander Laan
Join renowned teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan as he guides you through the land of the Bible. In each lesson, Vander Laan illuminates the historical, geographical, and cultural context of the sacred Scriptures. As disciples of Jesus, we’ve discovered that following him demands an intense commitment to the text and complete devotion to Christian Community. But there is more. Come discover the fierce passion of our early Christian brothers and sisters to walk like Jesus – even when the path became treacherous. Filmed on location in the Middle East, this study will transform your understanding of God and challenge you to be a true follower of Jesus. Watch the full first session below.
