One Thousand Gifts — That's a Wrap!

All is grace… because God is transfiguring all to bring glory to Christ alone. To make us more into the image of His Son. ~ Ann Voskamp

Friends, it’s nearly Christmas and recap week begins for One Thousand Gifts! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the birth of our King Jesus than to thank Him again and again. From the tiny gifts in our daily lives to the unbelievable miracles He’s performed all throughout history. This season of Advent is one of waiting even in the ache, but also of remembering His goodness, faithfulness, kindness, closeness, and the preparation of eternity to come. Rejoice! And, give thanks!

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving. — Psalm 95:1-2

“Thanksgiving is the evidence of our acceptance of whatever He gives. Thanksgiving is the manifestation of our YES! To His grace.” ~ Ann Voskamp, One Thousand Gifts

God is always good, and I am always loved.

This week is likely a busy one for you, but we hope you have some vacation or times of rest and relaxation! If you missed any of Ann’s videos, it’s a great time to catch up, or rewatch the videos, review our study guides, remember our Bible verses, and chew on God’s magnificent gifts that we’ve been counting together. Maybe you’ll even want to sit around with family members and share one of the most impactful videos from the study with them?

Gratitude is the key to a life open-handed, arms raised, heart aligned with the Kingdom. We’ve met Ann’s dare to live fully right where we are… even if we are surprised by pain. Worshipfully, awake to the miracles, alive in His presence, and filled with gratitude and hope for the future. Amen!

“Eucharisteo — thanksgiving — always precedes a miracle.” ~ Ann

One Thousand Gifts has inspired people all over the globe to put pen to paper and start recording the daily wonders. What have you been thankful Him for? He is listening! And what has happened in your heart as you’ve counted out blessings? Have you found a spark of new hope? New joy?

This study has reminded us that:

  • We can face loss and heartache knowing that God is still God and He is good.
  • In Jesus, we can reframe hardships in the language of His grace and His mercy.
  • God is always good and we are always loved.
  • Jesus is a Day-3 God, the King of resurrection power, the One who can turn brokenness and death into beauty and life.
  • We are blessed to be a blessing to others… to pour out God’s goodness that has been poured onto us.
