The Truth according to God’s Word
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. — Philippians 4:6
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. — Psalm 139:23
The Truth
Anxiety is fear of the unknown. A major source of anxiety comes from not knowing what will happen next on the world stage or on the smaller pedestals of our lives. But we often forget that what is unknown to us is fully known to God. Rather than letting anxiety shape us, we can allow God’s faithfulness to mold us. He can be trusted in every anxious situation — whether it’s on the large stage of world events or, more likely, in the smaller anxieties that rob us of joy in our relationships, careers, and families.
Tell Yourself the Truth
“Anxiety robs me of peace and undermines my faith. I will therefore obey God’s Word and not be anxious about anything. In every anxious situation, through prayer and thanksgiving, I will release my anxiety to God, exchanging it for His peace. He will still my every anxious thought.”
Pray the Promise
Father, I release all anxiety to you. All sense of panic or unfounded nervousness must be replaced by my confidence in you. Your peace is my only antidote for needless anxiety. I will rest in You, the One who never has a cause for anxiety.
“I am no longer anxious about anything, as I realize the Lord is able to carry out His will, and His will is mine. It makes no matter where He places me, or how. That is rather for Him to consider than for me; for in the easiest positions He must give me His grace, and in the most difficult, His grace is sufficient.” — Hudson Taylor
