Grandparents are special people. I have a thousand wonderful memories of all four of my grandparents and maybe you do, too.
Maybe it was…
Playing “Sorry” at the kitchen table eating grilled cheese and homemade tomato soup.
Eating Christmas dinner at their home, opening presents under their old-fashioned tree, and singing carols together.
Walking on the beach, exploring the tidepools, and building sand castles.
Them coming to your sporting, school, or arts events and cheering you on encouraging you in your passion.
Playing dress-up in Grandmother’s closet – Oh, I just loved my Grandmother’s clothes, high heels, hats, and scarves!
There’s nothing like building friendships with grandparents. They have so much to teach us about life, the Lord, our heritage, what they’ve learned in their lives. The stories they can tell! Ask them and listen!
I’m so thankful that my grandparents loved Jesus and modeled faith to their families. They shaped my life along with my siblings and cousins from the time we were itty bitty all the way until they met Him face-to-Face! What a legacy! That’s the kind of grandmama I want to be – Jesus-loving, gracious, present, involved, fun, goofy, and full of memory-making moments.
Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 12.
Let’s bless the grandparents in our lives this year and tell them how much we love them!
