Earth, do not cover my blood; may my cry never be laid to rest! Even now my Witness is in Heaven; my Advocate is on high. My Intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man He pleads with God as one pleads for a friend. – Job 16:18-21

Job looks up through a fog of grief and pain and sees something in a flash of spiritual insight. He cries out, “Even now my Witness is in Heaven; my Advocate is on high. My Intercessor is my friend… on behalf of a man He pleads with God as one pleads for a friend.” I love those two words — “even now.”
Whatever your life situation at this very moment, EVEN NOW, you have a Witness, an Advocate, an Intercessor, and a Friend in Heaven, making the case for you before the Father. That Friend is Jesus Himself, the Son of God and Creator of all. Whatever your circumstance, doctor’s prognosis, level of pain, bank balance, or earthly trouble, you have a mighty Witness in heaven who is completely tuned in to your situation and prays for you.
Even now, Lord Jesus, I don’t have to wait in line for Your attention, earn Your notice, work for Your favor, or cry out endlessly for Your mercy. Even now, You are my Advocate, pleading with God the Father on my behalf. As best I know how, I will rest in Your love today and trust You to do what’s best for me.
