Hey, friends! It’s time to wrap up I Give Up already — time to review, catch up, and digest all that we’ve studied and learned from Scripture and from our dear teacher, Laura Story. If you want to rewatch the videos this week is your chance, so let’s get everything out of this study that we possibly can!
I Give Up has been life-changing for so many of us. Surrender is where the rubber meets the road for believers in Jesus. Will we trust Him enough to say “I Give Up” or will we hold tight to our own way, our own plan?
God is not interested in signing off on even our best-made plans. God is much more interested in our surrender… our surrender to Him. ~ Laura Story
That’s where life is. It’s where we display our love and devotion to Him.
Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Even when our lives don’t go as expected, we can offer our worshipful, trusting, wholehearted surrender to the Sovereign of all. He loves us. He has us. He holds us in His hands and has plans beyond what we can possibly imagine!
It’s risky from our point of view. Normal life has unimaginable challenges. The life of faith has even more. So, yes, it’s hard to surrender… until we remember who we’re surrendering to… the God who is actually in control. The One who is Love.
The Scriptures are filled with a thousand descriptions of God from Creator of the universe to Sovereign over all time, holy, omnipotent, mighty, Father, Healer, Protector, Provider, King, my Rock… ~ Laura
Ultimately, it comes down to that question… Will I trust the One I’ve trusted? Will I love the One I’ve loved? Will I believe in the One I’ve believed in? Will I surrender, maybe in ways I’ve never imagined before, to the One I’ve surrendered to?
God had Jesus’ back. He has yours and mine, too.
Lord, not my will, but Yours be done.
When it comes down to it, Jesus is everything. He’s better than anyone or anything else we could tightly grasp. He’s the only One who satisfies. The only One who knows what is best because He created us for a purpose. He makes all things new. He knows what we do not know and sees what we cannot see. Even when we mess up beyond belief, if we submit to Him, He promises to use our sins, our stories, our wrecks, and our wrongs for His purposes and His glory. He promises to beauty from our ashes if we follow Him and raise our hands in surrender.
God is the only One who can see the full story. And, our job is to trust Him enough to surrender. ~ Laura
I choose to follow Him.
“Follow Me.” — John 21:19
I choose to give up. To Him. To His will. To His glory! How about you?
May we surrender. May we surrender. God we give up. ~ Laura
