[Jesus] gave thanks and broke the loaves… They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve baskets of broken pieces. — Matthew 14:19-20
Jesus showed us time and time again that God not only knows what we need, but can and will provide for us when we trust in Him. ~ Max Lucado
Welcome to week five of the Jesus Online Bible Study!
How many of us need a miracle right now? And our nation? And the world?
Everyone loves a great rescue story. We love rescue movies. Last-minute saves. Stories of dire trouble where someone outsmarts the terrorist, catches the bad guy, performs risky surgery and saves the life, comes into courtroom and brings justice, saves the people in desperation and danger, rescues those under an oppressive regime and brings freedom.
But, none of us wants to be in positions to be saved.
We don’t want cancer. Or joblessness. Or heartbreak. Or illness. Or persecution. Or injustice. Or the COVID pandemic.
Even so, when we least expect it, we find ourselves in need of a hero. A Savior.
Teacher! Don’t You care if we drown? — Mark 4:38
That’s the chief issue of our hearts, isn’t it? In the boat, in a storm, in the hospital, in our homes…
Don’t You care? Do You see? Are You watching this? Where are You?
In crisis, we must look back and remember the times when He proved Himself our Savior. When He broke through the chaos. When He saved the life. When He delivered the money right on time. When He brought the employment. When He sent the rescue team. When He calmed the storm.
We can trust Him… with every problem in our lives. In our hurt, confusion, disillusionment, suffering, rejection, persecution, pain, and in crises, we can trust Him. Remember and obey.
What Jesus is seeking is a heart that obeys. Right in the middle of the crisis. In the trouble. In the epidemic. Now.
Obedience leads to abundance. ~ Max
He does care. How stunning!
And, He intervenes.

Prayer for the Week
Jesus, we love You, Lord, right now we’re asking for a miracle. But even more than that, we’re asking for a revival in our hearts, so that people around the world will come to know You and trust and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We love You, Lord. Amen.
