Jesus OBS — Wrapping It Up!

Jesus OBS — Wrapping It Up!

We have a high priest who is able to understand, and since He understands we find mercy and grace when we need it. When we fall, we are not forgotten. When we stumble, we are not abandoned. Our God gets us. ~ Max Lucado

I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die. — John 11:25

Friends,

How was your Easter? Did the Jesus study set fire to your heart like it did to mine? Especially in the middle of the unique circumstances of the world today, it’s made me pause and think about the centuries of Christians who have celebrated the risen Christ as most of us did — in our homes, isolated from other believers and family, quietly reflecting on the unmerited, unexpected, inscrutable, magnificent gift Christ gave on the Cross preparing a way for us to spend eternity saved and in His presence.

Savior.

King.

LORD.

The Way.

The Truth.

The Life.

Immanuel.

Our Hero.

The Lamb of God.

Jesus.

Fully man. And yet fully God.

Jesus is the Answer. King, Friend, Teacher, Miracle-worker, Victorious Sacrifice… Jesus! Immanuel, God with us. He came for us. He sought us. To save us!

Today salvation has come to this house… for the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. — Luke 19:9-10

The Hope Diamond of the Bible — “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16 A 26-word parade of hope that captures the heart of Jesus’ message. ~ Max Lucado

Because of love.

As we’ve learned in this study, no one lived like Jesus, taught like Jesus, loved like Jesus. He overturned accepted religious patterns just as He overturned tables that persecuted the poor and the outsider. He operated out of a limitless wellspring of compassion and love for the lost, the powerful, the injured, the proud… anyone. Including you and me. He laid down His life in an utterly unforeseeable way out of love.

How can we not trust Him with all of our hearts? Even in the storm when it seems like He’s sleeping, even in the hospital when we wonder if He’s aware, even in our homes when we feel abandoned and forgotten.

Don’t You care? Do You see? Are You watching this? Where are You?

In crisis, we must look back and remember the times when He proved Himself our Savior.

He will break through chaos again. He will provide again. Protect again. Deliver again. Rescue again.

We can trust Him… with every problem in our lives.

Great crowds came to Him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and laid them at His feet; and He healed them. — Matthew 15:30

Jesus went into the towns and countryside and sought out those who had been affected by all forms of ailments. And He healed them. Jesus was willing to reach out to anyone who came to Him in need. And He is still willing to reach out in compassion to those who are suffering today. ~ Max

As we wrap up this study, friends, let’s take this with us: Jesus who loves us is right here with us.

Hallelujah!

This Week

It’s time to wrap up our Jesus Online Bible Study already! This week is the perfect time to go over your notes and study guides again, re-watch the videos, and process and think about everything you’ve learned.

We want to remind you that you have one more week to watch the study videos, as we’ll be closing the study on Monday, April 20th.

What’s Next?

Max would like to invite you to his next study, You’ll Get Through This: Hope and Help for Turbulent Times – starting May 3rd.

Do you need encouragement right about now? Are you feeling worried about the future, unsure of how this will all pan out? Let’s spend some time together over the next six weeks encouraging one another as we go through this study of the life of Joseph.

In this six-session study, Max reminds us that God doesn’t promise that getting through trials will be quick or painless. It wasn’t for Joseph — tossed in a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned, forgotten and dismissed. But his Old Testament story is in the Bible for this reason: to teach us to trust God to trump evil.

“These challenges are great, but God is greater. Let us take courage that God will restore even the most painful circumstances and use them for good.” ~ Max

Will you join us for the next study? Registration is now open!

Thank you for being a part of this study with us and Max Lucado!
