Relaxing on a porch swing might be one of the simplest, most satisfying ways to unwind. The motion of swinging slowly and steadily has a way of wooing us into a childlike and carefree state—just the way God loves us to be!

Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.1 Peter 5:7 TLB

The fact that God is always thinking about us and watching to see what we need means we’re free to focus on the good things He has for us instead of tying ourselves in knots with worry.

The concerns of this life—big, little, or anywhere in between—do nothing to facilitate putting the pieces of God’s good purpose together.

Dependence is our goal.

Releasing everything to His capable authority lets Him be our Provider, our Sufficiency, and our faithful Father. He already knows what we need anyway.

We want God’s victories—joy over sorrow, peace over stress, comfort over chaos, hope over despair. We can confidently say there is no trouble in this life that God has not overcome. Our days are in His hands, our lives are His to command, and our peace is the gift no worry can withstand.

Father, I will open my heart, release my worries, and relax in Your truth today.
