The 28-Day Prayer Journey Week 4 — Requesting with Confidence

And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. — 1 John 5:14

God is able to do what we cannot even dream. ~ Chrystal

It’s already week four of The 28-Day Prayer Journey Online Bible Study. Can you believe it? My favorite studies always fly by so fast!

This week we’re talking about asking in prayer. It’s what most of the world does every single day in every single prayer. But, we’re coming at this in a different way. We want to ask in relationship.

You know what’s fun? Chrystal shot these teachings on my home beach, Crystal Cove in California, which just makes me so happy I have to use words like “the cockles of my heart”!

Believe me, I have prayed a lot at Crystal Cove beach! Praying and walking. Praying and swimming. Praying and watching my kids play. Praying and crying… The Lord met me there many, many times in a visceral way, almost physically so. He made it crystal clear that He’s with me and wants to hear everything. (Sometimes I have a lot of words.)

God wants to hear what we need and want. He wants us to know Him and know His Word and ask according to His will… All of which requires abiding in Him. Relationship!

Like the persistent widow dealing with an unrighteous judge in Luke 18, we need to know God’s Word so we can speak Scripture back to Him. Knock, knock, and knock more asking Him for what we need according to His promises. God is God of His Word!

Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. — John 16:24

Whether God says yes, or wait, or no, we can trust Him… even when it’s hard… Remember, sometimes, when we praypraypray for something, God’s no is a gigantic gift and we may not know that for a looong time (if ever). Trust Him, friends! He knows what we don’t.

Our requests need to be rooted in our desire to please Him. ~ Chrystal

When we don’t know what to pray in a situation, we can ask the Holy Spirit to pray and just agree with Him. I got into that habit a couple of years ago during an overwhelming season of confusion, and it helped tremendously!

Say something like, “Holy Spirit, I am baffled in this circumstance. I don’t know what You want. I don’t know what to think or do. Will you please pray for me? And, I’ll agree with You. Your will be done.”

God is looking for faithful people on this earth who will consistently trust Him even as they move through issues of life and even if they have to wait on His timing. ~ Chrystal

God hears you!
He will answer you!
He wants to walk with you…

He’s good, friends, and He loves you! Keep praying!

Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not His benefits. — Psalm 103:2

Prayer for the Week

Jesus, we love You. Thank You, God, that You want to hear what we need. Thank You that You bend down close to listen (Psalm 116:2-4 NLT). Help us to ask within Your Will. Teach us to pray Scripture back to You. We want to pray about everything because we want to live every bit of life in relationship with you! We love You, Jesus!
