Thine is the Kingdom. — Matthew 6:13
Stop and ask God to help us see life the way He wants us to see it and then to His way of doing things. ~ Chrystal
It’s our final week of The 28-Day Prayer Journey Online Bible Study. We’re going to put an exclamation mark on this study with all our heart, my friends! This week we’re talking about doing things God’s way in our everyday lives as a practice. Not just in the big moments. The big moments of faith are built by the everyday faith muscles when we do it again and again and again.
God’s way, not my way.
It comes down to the fact that He knows what is right and good and we don’t. That’s why submission and yielding are so important.
In the easy stuff, we don’t really struggle, right? When the Lord nudges us to give to a Christian charity, that’s easy. But buy a sandwich for and sit and talk with someone on a street corner about Jesus, … Oh, boy! That can be hard… especially when it’s not convenient.
What about when you’re asking and asking and asking, and God says, “Wait”
… It’s hard.
Or, when we want to rush ahead before asking God what He thinks because we have a sneaking suspicion that He might have a different idea about what would be good…
It’s hard!
I bought a t-shirt that says “And if not, He is still good” (from Daniel 3:17-18). Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow before any other gods even though they knew it would cost them their lives by immolation. Their bold proclamation to King Neb was, “Hey, we’re not serving your lame god. We don’t need to defend ourselves in this. God can deliver us. And if not, He is still good.”
Here’s why I wear it: sometimes I need temporal reminders of spiritual truths.
God is still good even if He doesn’t do what I want Him to. So, I will still obey Him even if it costs me.
I’m going to stop and listen and do it His way. I’ll make mistakes for which I’ll repent, but in every possible way, I’ll do my best to follow Him even if it seems crazy. Right?
God is perfect. He is eternal. He is almighty. He knows everyone and everything. On the other hand, we are imperfect. We are limited in our foresight. ~ Chrystal
What God is after is a man or a woman who is yielded to Him, so completely surrendered, so completely willing to make room for what He wants that our hearts are easily moved by the Spirit of God to the purposes of God. ~ Chrystal
I surrender all. I surrender all. All to Thee my precious Jesus. I surrender all.
If Jesus can ask in the Garden of Gethsemane for God to find a different way and obey the no, then I can obey too.
It’s about You, Lord. Not me.
Yes, Holy Spirit. Speak to me. I am listening and I will follow You on the daily and in the big moments. Are you with me?

Prayer for the Week
Jesus, we love You. Thank You for this wonderful study! Help us to be diligent and passionate in prayer. Inspire us, Holy Spirit, to pray throughout the day and night no matter what we are doing and talk to You about everything we are thinking. Remind us to pause and ask for Your input. Remind us to listen and wait for Your correction and direction. Lead us, Lord, in Your way. We want to follow You! We love You, Jesus!
