Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. – Psalm 143:8
The first ten minutes of your morning impact the day’s tone and your attitude.
Consider this scenario: You wake up to your alarm, already frustrated. You stayed up way too late the night before and are paying for it. As you roll out of bed, your mind begins calculating all you need to do. Feeling overwhelmed by everything on your list, you shuffle into the kitchen only to find an empty bag of coffee.
Those first ten minutes sound like the prelude to a frustrating, harried, and stressful day.
But what if the first ten minutes were completely different?
You wake up to your alarm and feel exhausted, but you smile, thinking of the late night spent with friends. The fatigue is worth it. You get out of bed, breathe deeply, and commit to a positive day. You do your morning ritual of thanking God for the day’s blessings, and when you realize there’s no coffee, you thank Him for the “necessity” of driving through Starbucks.
- The first ten minutes are a launching pad into the day. Invite gratitude on board right away.
Describe the first ten minutes of your day today. What do you wish they looked like?
