Your Love Chases Me

Your Love Chases Me

My ardent Lord,

Your Love chases after me every day of my life! So I’ll look for signs of Your loving Presence as I go through this day. You disclose Yourself to me in a variety of ways—words of Scripture just when I need them, helpful words spoken through other people, “coincidences” orchestrated by Your Spirit, nature’s beauty, and so on.

Your Love for me is not passive. It actively chases after me and leaps into my life!

Please open the eyes of my heart so I can “see” You blessing me in myriad ways—both small and great.

I want to not only receive Your bountiful blessings but also take careful note of them—treasuring them and pondering them in my heart as Your mother did, Jesus.

I’m thankful for the countless ways You show up in my life. I like to write down some of these blessings so I can enjoy them again and again. These signs of Your Presence strengthen me and prepare me for whatever difficulties I’ll encounter on the road ahead. Help me to remember that nothing can separate me from Your Love!

In Your conquering Name, Jesus, Amen.

Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of God for the rest of my life.Psalm 23:6 MSG

Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11 NKJV

Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19

Precious Jesus,

You are my Treasure! You’re immeasurably more valuable than anything I can see, hear, or touch. Knowing You is the Prize above every other prize. Earthly treasures are often hoarded, worried over, or hidden for safekeeping. But the riches I have in You can never be lost or stolen or damaged. In fact, I’ve found that as I share You freely with others, I gain even more of You.

Since You are infinite, there will always be more of You for me to discover—and to love.

My world often feels fragmented, with countless things—both small and large—vying for my attention. So much “stuff” keeps getting in the way of my desire to spend time enjoying Your Presence. I admit that being worried and bothered about many things comes naturally to me. But Your Word assures me that only one thing is necessary. When I make You that one thing, I choose what will not be taken away from me.

Help me to rejoice in Your continual nearness—and to let my awareness of Your Presence put everything else in perspective.

You are the Treasure that can brighten all my moments!

In Your priceless Name, Amen.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.Philippians 3:14

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Matthew 6:19

[Jesus] said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41–42 NASB 1995
