Thank you for being a part of this study! Let’s look back at everything we learned together…
Your life’s purpose is the same as mine: to know God and to give Him glory as you make Him known through the way you live your life and you serve Him. ~ Anne
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. — Romans 8:28
Friends, it’s recap week! Hasn’t this study with Anne Graham Lotz been so fantastic? Jesus In Me is one of my very favorite studies we’ve offered at FaithGateway; it’s been such a blessing! This week is the time to go through all our notes, re-watch the teaching videos, memorize verses… And anything else to help us get the most out of your time in the Word!
I think this study has been a fear-buster for many of us, it’s reminded us of the power of God we have not just by our side but within our own bodies! Amazing.
Jesus showed us what God the Father is like. In the same way, He showed us what God the Holy Spirit is like.
The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby. He intercedes for us. He helps us in everything we do if we lean on Him. He gives us the power to do what we cannot do in our own power. He gives us wisdom we can’t possibly have in our little brains. He is our closest, dearest Friend.
We don’t need to have the physical, skin-and-bones Jesus in our presence because we can learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit living within us who is always there! Jesus could only be in one place, talking to maybe up to a thousand people at a time, but the Holy Spirit can be in all believers, talking to all of us individually, all the time!
His power is in us. He’s willing to impart His wisdom when we ask Him. He’s ready to comfort, ready to counsel, ready to guide and lead. No wonder David said,
Take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. — Psalm 51:11b
We activate the power [of God within us] through our cooperation with the Holy Spirit as we fully surrender to Him, as we obey Him, and as we place our faith and our trust in Him. ~ Anne
This is an “all in” kind of life, my friends. God gets every single part of life. My prayer is, “Access it all, Jesus! Get out whatever is blocking Your access in my life. Change me from the inside out. Cleanse me. Fill me. Move in me.”
The Holy Spirit will tell you how to be His friend in the way that He has planned for you to be and He will be a Friend to you and me as well. How beautiful is that?!
In God’s Word, He gives us instructions for living. ~ Anne
We’re never going to do it perfectly while we’re bound by human bodies. But, Jesus is the example in the Bible and the Holy Spirit lives within us to guide and direct as fix our eyes on Him all the way to the finish line!
Holiness is to be like Jesus. ~ Anne
And yet, to be holy just means that we’re set apart by God. We’re set apart especially by the Lord to do good things His Kingdom, to work alongside Jesus and be His ambassadors. As His people we are to be holy. Talk about cool!
You and I, as believers, are free from sin. Free. Confession is our ticket back to that freedom. So God’s conviction is profound kindness! Every time the Holy Spirit pricks our hearts it’s in His kindness reminding us that we need to be cleaned up again. For freedom! Don’t you want it? I do!
Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. — Romans 8:26
The Holy Spirit’s priority is to glorify Jesus and make Him known to you. To guide you in all truth as He transforms you into the image of Jesus. ~ Anne
This week, as we go through our notes again, review videos, and get all we can out of this study, let’s zero in on Jesus and choose to make Him the center of our lives! Amen?
Amen!
