Do your very best to be found living at your best. 2 Peter 3:14 MSG

Everything that we have — right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start — comes from God by way of Jesus Christ.1 Corinthians 1:30 MSG

Everything was created through Him; nothing — not one thing! — came into being without Him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by.John 1:4 MSG

This is how we know we’re living steadily and deeply in Him, and He in us: He’s given us life from His life, from His very own Spirit. — 1 John 4:13 MSG

Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life — even though invisible to spectators — is with Christ in God. He is your life.Colossians 3:4 MSG

This is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life.1 John 5:11–12

My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all Heaven and earth. I ask Him to strengthen you by His Spirit... that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite Him in. And I ask Him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.Ephesians 3:14–19 MSG

We call her “the woman at the well” because we don’t know her name. But Jesus did.

And John 4 tells us that after she met Jesus, she was never the same.

She’d spent her entire life looking for love in all the wrong places, trying to find it in one failed relationship after another, so many that it was a scandal. Everyone knew her story — or thought they knew — and gossiped about it.

She was desperate for a sense of purpose, something to give her life meaning. But nothing — and no one — could satisfy the deep hunger inside. Nothing and no one had ever been able to quench her thirst.

No one but Jesus.

When He met her at the well, He asked her for a drink - and then offered her something so much more: living water.

“Those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again,” He explained. “It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”v. 14

  • He gives us His life — His Spirit — to live in us, to fill all our empty places, to fill our hunger, and to quench our thirst.

His life strengthens us, energizes us, empowers us to live life more fully than we could ever have imagined.

In John 10:10, He calls it a rich and satisfying life — a better life — an abundant life (ESV) that is full to overflowing!

This life is nothing we earn — nothing we work for or strive for or somehow prove ourselves worthy or deserving of. We couldn’t earn it, even if we tried!

When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing. Psalm 145:16

It’s a gift.

So what we do is receive it. Open it up, so to speak — explore it, embrace it — with an open mind, open heart, and willing spirit.

Rise up and learn how to live an abundant life!
