You are a woman to your soul, to the very core of your being. And so the journey to discover what God meant when He created woman in His image — when He created you as His woman — that journey begins with your heart. ~ Stasi Eldredge, Captivating
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. — Proverbs 4:23
An invitation to restore your feminine heart.
Those are the first words I read about Captivating (the new Online Bible Study starting September 20 based on the international bestselling book) and honestly my own heart skipped a beat. I’d read and loved Captivating years ago, but I’d never read that line before… My goodness. I didn’t expect the reaction to be so visceral. After everything we’ve all been through over the last few years, just the beginning of discussing our feminine hearts with Jesus makes me emotional.
We women were born longing to be loved, desired, chased, pursued. We want to be cherished, valued, taken on an adventure, thought of as beautiful, and to contribute beauty and life to our world.
God placed these desires in our hearts, friends! And yet we feel guilty for wanting these things, don’t we? Especially now.
But the Lord wants to restore our hearts to Him, to affirm that these desires are good, and bring healing to all the broken places… and it starts with the heart.
The world is at war, and the human heart is the prize. Our hearts need supernatural strengthening. Take a moment to give God the fullness of your heart, soul, and inner life. ~ Stasi
We’ve had to be tough during these years, haven’t we? We’ve grown tired. (At least I have.) Between me and my friends, there are always rumblings of feeling like we’re not enough or we are too much, that we don’t matter, or we’ve failed. There’s the sting of a failed marriage, or a lost job, or a foreclosed home. We, as women, struggle with being overly controlling, irritable, bossy, or sometimes we hide, ashamed of our circumstances. It’s hard being women sometimes, isn’t it? We’re a messy, wonderful, contrary, lovely, frustrating people group. We worry, we love big, and we’re definitely harder on ourselves than anyone else, right?
The heart of a woman. It’s a magnificent thing.
In this study (updated in 2021 with all-new videos with Stasi) we’re going to:
- Learn what God intended for women
- Discover how Jesus wants to restore us as women
- Gain help to heal the trauma we’ve endured
- Look forward with joy to the freedom God has for us, the strength He has imbued us with, and the beauty He has bestowed upon us
Let’s invite Jesus in to the most tender place that has been neglected or locked up tight for too long and let Him minister to us.
This study is for all of us. We need to rediscover our wild love for Jesus. Women flocked to Him for a reason! He honored women in a day when they were considered almost nothing. Property. Something to be traded and used. Without rights. Along came Jesus who treated women as people to be treasured and cared for. Women were His friends (Mary and Martha, Luke 10:38-42). They financially supported Him (Joanna and Susanna, Luke 8:1-3). They followed were anointed with the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:14 along with the disciples and Jesus’ mother and brothers.
And, yet most women feel pounded down by life. Why? The enemy of our souls doesn’t want us to live to our fullest capacity and joy!
You really won’t understand your life as a woman until you understand this:
You are passionately loved by the God of the universe. You are passionately hated by his Enemy. ~ Stasi
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. — 1 Peter 5:8-9
We women have a God-given, fierce strength we sometimes don’t recognize. We have a mission from God and a plan for our lives. We have unique beauty to impart to this world. We are ordained to mother whether or not we ever give birth through our bodies. We have a sisterhood with one another that is powerful; we can lift each other up, encourage, strengthen, help, counsel, embolden, comfort, calm, and also enjoy and play together. We can rejoice and worship Jesus together. We are a force to be reckoned with when we fix our focus on Him!
God loves you as you profoundly. As a woman.
You are beautiful. You were designed with purpose and for a purpose.
Won’t you join us for this study to restore our feminine hearts together? I think this is going to be a life-changer!
